Dh and i are having a slight dilema. Baby names. As you know we are having a boy. Which is great but we already have a boy so we already used the name we love on him. hmmmm so how do you pick another favourite? Very tough. I'm 30 weeks pregnant so we have had 12 weeks to pick a name and still have 10 week to go. BUT i am having real trouble feeling a bond with this baby. Its weird actually. It feel like it will never happen, like i'm not going to have a baby. I didn't feel like i did when i was pregnant with Ethan. Anyhow i thought that maybe it has a little to do with the fact we haven't named him yet. So last night, we got serious. We wrote down some names we each liked. For the first name we just wanted one we both liked and for the middle name we are using a name from my side of the family and this is what we came up with......please vote which one you like the best!!

Dhs fav first names -

Seamus
Patrick

Dhs fav middle names -

Cyril
Patrick
(yeah you can tell he has thought about this alot, huh? )

My fav first names -

Shamus(just different spelling to dhs)
Nicholas
Erik
Tobias
Silas
Sebastian
Reuben

My fav middle names -

Wentworth
Patrick

I didn't realise it was going to be so hard to choose!!

I love Sebastian and Silas, and Patrick for a middle name.

Good luck! I think that boy name are much more difficult to pick than girl names.

I like Silas Patrick. I felt the same way about my 2nd. (((((hug))))

Looks like the middle name is going to be Patrick! :)

I agree with Nicole - boy names are harder. I like Sebastian.

I don't know if you're interested or if you'd be able to find it where you live, but there was a great baby name book we liked by Linda Rosencrantz and Pamela Redmond Satran called "Cool Baby Names." They've written a series of books and we have used several of them to find names for our kids. They list names by categories instead of the typical alphabetical listing, so it's more fun to read and get ideas from.

I like Silas

But I know what you mean, when we had boy #2, suddenly I was totally unprepared as to what to name him! We had a really great name for #1, and #2 just kinda got jipped. Ah well, such is the life of the second born!

If you name him Silas then you can almost guarantee it will be unique. Afterall, who would name their boy after the villian in "The Da Vinci Code"?

p.s. you are on my web ring i'm not some crazy stocker ;)

LOVE SHAMUS!!! LOVE IT!!! (don't prefer the other spelling for obvious reasons)

I like Shamus Patrick...but I really like Shamus Patrick Wentworth...sounds very rich and important!

I had a hard time feeling connected during my last pregnancy, I think it was because I had a miscarriage previous to it, I kept thinking there could be the possibility that it wouldn't work out, but it did! I like Tobias (Toby) Patrick and Sebastian (Shamus is cute too, but don't spell it the way your hubby likes or he will be teased endlessly!)

I like Seamus. That's the traditional spelling of it. However I understand the teasing thing, so I wouldn't use it. But, I don't like Shamus either...what if he ends up fat? Shamu anyone?

Silas makes me think of the villian in Da Vinci code, like the anonymous person said.

I like Nicholas Patrick.

Well since you both put pathrick for a middle name I say it wins.
For a first name I like Tobias or Nicholas

Oh, names are so hard!!!! hey, you don't have to decide right away. I know people that didn't know three months after their kid was born what they were going to call him. Actually, no one knew until the day of the baby blessing. The mom and dad had been fighting about the name and when the dad took the baby up to bless it the entire chapel leaned in closer to hear when he said the name. it was hilarious!
